The theory posits the inherent superiority of black people and the essential inhumanity and inferiority of white people. It is a discredited form of black supremacist theory. Several black supremacists justify supremacist assertions by assigning dubious properties to melanin based on pseudoscience and distortions of scientific fact or speculation. This body of belief is known generally as "melanin theory". The central idea of the melanin theory is that the levels of melanin in dark skin naturally enhance intelligence and emotional, psychic and spiritual sensitivity and physical prowess.
