Metacognition is recognized as an important tool in supporting teaching and fostering active learning. In this PhD dissertation-based monograph, the contributions of three metacognitive instructional methods in learning primary science in non-ideal classrooms are provided. Autorentext

Desta B. Sbhatu earned BSc in Biology in 1989 and started his career as high school teacher. Desta earned MSc in 1997 and hired as college lecturer of biology and science education. Desta completed his PhD in Science Education in 2006 from NC State, USA. Currently, Desta is Assistant Professor in Mekelle Institute of Technology, Ethiopia.
