Staphylococcus aureus is a bacteria that can be found on healthy people's skin, axillae, perineum, and nares. One of the most common causes of skin and soft tissue infections is Staphylococcus aureus. Cellulitis, boils, and furuncles are some of the most common clinical manifestations of S. aureus infection, and if left untreated, can develop to osteomyelitis or the seemingly rare occurrence of necrotizing fasciitis.
