Method Development For Analysis Of Anti-Diabetic Combination

Day to day numbers of newer drugs and their formulations either in single or in combined dosage forms are marketed. Epalrestat and Metformin HCl is one of the new combination available for the treatment of Diabetes. This combination is not official in any pharmacopoeia; hence no official method or reported methods are available for the estimation of these two drugs in combined dosage forms. So it is rational to develop and validate the Analytical methods for the estimation of these drugs. With the light of above objective, Reverse phase HPLC, Simultaneous estimation by UV spectrophotometer and HPTLC methods were developed and validated for analysis of combination of Epalrestat and Metformin HCl.
