Methods and Techniques in Plant Nematology

There is a shortage of didactical books which approach, updated and in details, the methodologies used in nematological researches. This book comes to occupy this gap since, with an easily and accessible language, show the principal techniques and methodologies applicable to nematode studies, with figures and illustrations which will help the beginner to understand the process, step by step. With the objective of help students, technicians, professionals, and other interested in the study of practical Nematology, this book show the techniques in a gradual and logical way, initiating in the nematodes sampling, passing through the most utilized extraction techniques, mounting slides to classical species identification, root and egg masses staining, inoculum production, experiment design, until the most advanced methodologies, as the prepare of samples for scanning and transmission electron microscopy and of tissues to histological studies, finalizing with the modern methodologies for identification, either in the biochemical or in the molecular level. With the new research areas and tools of today, with this book we motivate and welcome the newest generation of nematologists.
