The Cuban university as a social institution has the mission to train future professionals, in the process difficulties arise that are susceptible to detect to work on its eradication, hence the study of historical trends and characterizations of the methods of teaching and learning of reading in support of the curricular strategy of mother tongue, of vital importance for the performance of the university student.
