The book, "Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme and Livelihoods in India: A Case Study of Marginalised Communities" written by Dr.P.Subba Rao, Deputy Director, Centre for Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy, Andhra University analyses the aspects of poverty and alleviation measures through wage employment programmes introduced in India since independence. The book discusses the MGNREG Act, its salient features and presents important field level observations, opinions of the key informants on the usefulness of the Right to Information Act and the Social Audits.
