Microbial consortium in degradation of lignin-tannin rich agrowastes

Waste recycling and protection of environment are the most heard words nowadays.Environment friendly management of agrowastes having high content of lignin and phenols with minimum cost sounds great.The long processes in the formulation of a potential microbial consortium capable of accelerating the degradation of lignin-tannin rich agrowastes which may otherwise take long period for their natural degradation are featured sequentially. It also depicts the efficiency of the composted agrowastes in plant growth promotion and disease management.

Dr. Gleena Mary CF did her doctoral research in Kerala agricultural University under the guidance of Dr. Sally K.Mathew. Dr. Gleena was awarded Junior research fellowship for her M.Sc. and UGC- Maulana Azad National fellowship for her Ph.D . She has co- authored one book chapter and published 18 research papers.
