Microgenomics of Odontogenic Lesions
Details
PREFACEOdontogenic lesions are a variety of lesions with potential shared aetiologies but various therapeutic approaches. The odontogenic lesions ameloblastoma, dentigerous cyst, and odontogenic keratocyst are prone to malignant transformation or local invasion. Uncertain molecular mechanisms underlie the emergence of these lesions. Oncogenes or tumour suppressor genes may be dysregulated in certain lesions, according to some studies. P53 gene down-regulation has been documented in AB, DC, and OKC. A number of long non-coding RNAs, including KIAA0125 and ENST00000512916, have also been dysregulated in AB tissues. Numerous genes contain single nucleotide polymorphisms that have been linked to specific odontogenic lesions. We provide a concise summary of the most recent information on the gene expression profile in these lesions and the relationship between genetic polymorphisms and the emergence of these lesions.
Autorentext
Being an Oral pathologist developing theoritical knowledge alongwith the clinical accumen helps in understanding the lesions better and allows in providing better treatment to the patient. It does not stop me to gain knowledge and always helps me trying to pursue for more further in depth command over the subject.
