Migration of SOA applications to Microservices

Microservices is an emerging trend in software development and it is believed that this architecture is the ultimate style for designing large enterprise applications. It overcomes all the drawbacks of existing legacy Monolithic and Service Oriented Architecture based applications. In this book, a framework to migrate legacy Monolithic applications to Microservices is discussed. In specific, Why do we need to migrate? How to migrate? How much effort is required for migration and what challenges will occur during migration are discussed. This book will give an overview of monolithic, SOA and Microservices architectures.

Dr. Vinay Raj is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Applications, NIT Tiruchirapalli. He completed his Ph.D. from NIT Warangal and his research interests include Software Engineering, Software Architectures, Serverless Computing, and Machine Learning. He has worked in TCS & Capgemini prior to Ph.D.
