Mind Map Technique in Teaching Science - An Experiment

Scientific investigation is a combination of processes and products. Since science is a dynamic field, these processes and products more in a continuous cycle.Process result in products, which in turn set off new processes, Traditional methods of teaching science have relied heavily on memorizing facts. The very nature of science demands that these facts are continually questioned. By adopting traditional method, no substantial learning gains on the part of students are seen.The school teachers find it very difficult to teach some science concept in upper primary level. Newer methods of teaching science therefore focus as much on the knowledge as on the processes and procedures for arriving at this knowledge. Mind Map Technique is the one of the teaching method. This book traces the effectiveness of Mind Map Technique in Teaching Science in Upper Primary school level.
