The concept of minority has acquired new urgency. The last two decades have witnessed a widespread resurgence of the political reflections of the concept. Although the dilemmas are enduring, it is now possible to confront them in a quite new light. Revolutionary periods are often a product of numerous events that snowball into fully fledged eruptions that lead to drastic changes in the political and social fabric of states and societies and thus to the context of minorities ,and it's clear that the case of Egypt introduced new givens to the concept and its reflections

Dr. Mai is graduated in the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University in 2003. Then she had her PhD degree in 2011 with an excellent degree on the topic "Coptic demands between inclusion and exclusion". She is now a Fulbright fellow at the University of California Los Angeles UCLA at the Center of Near Eastern Studies.
