INTRODUCTION Over the past few years, a little word with big potential has been rapidly placing itself into world s map. That word is Nano. Prefix with 10 9. The nano-meter is 1/100000000 of meter, i.e. 10 9 of a meter. Nanotechnology is application of nano-structures into useful nano-scale devices. Nano-scale is n t just small, it is special kind of small. It is an emerging technology based on solid particles in the range of 1 to 100 NM where properties are determined by size and surface area rather than bulk properties. NANO-TECHNOLOGY Nanotechnology is application of these Nano-structures into useful Nano scale devices. Nano-scale is special kind of small. Nanotechnology is more properly labelled as Nano-scale Bulk Technology while original meaning is more properly Molecular Nanotechnology abbreviated as (M NT) or Nano-scale Engineering. Bio-chip A bio-chip is a collection of miniaturized test sites (micro-arrays) arranged on a solid substrate that permits many tests to be performed at the same time in order to achieve higher output and speed.
