MODELING OF BRICK MASONRY INFILL FRAME
Details
Current work is extracted from doctoral thesis submitted to the Tribhuvan University, Institute of Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering, Pulchowk Campus, which is primarily focused on the modeling of brick infill wall with and without openings in reinforced concrete infill frame, as the application of such frames are very common in practice. In the analytical practices, it is quite obvious that the models of infill walls are frequently ignored resulting the deviation in structural responses. In the current work, author has presented numerous possible simulation models for brick infill frames using both macro and micro models along with idealized models for stress-strain curves of materials like brick units, mortar, masonry wallets and concrete specimens. Obviously it can help people in the study of infill frame for studies on progressive failure mechanisms, nonlinear analysis, pushover analysis, performance based analyses and so on.
