Modernism
Details
Modernism: Cause and Quintessence redefines Modernism by presenting a theory that claims that the mechanics of history have generated cycles of Modernism in the past and that since the Industrial Revolution in Europe, there have been waves of Modernism whereby the cycles of Modernism follow one another in rapid succession to the extent that they overlap. Adopting the decompartmental approach by which the humanities are employed as an integrated whole, the book claims to have discovered the imperceptible centre of gravity that brings the wildly disparate and confusing outward manifestations of Modernism together, with the disclaimer that the postmodernist age exists. The theory is applied to ten literary texts to show how literature manifests the features of Modernism in deceptively different ways.
