Details

Enamel defects may be due to hereditary, acquired, systemic or local factors. If any unbalance occur during maturation phase of enamel formation, it is called as hypomineralization. It is a deficiency in the mineralization process of permanent first molars and less frequently incisors. Although the reason is not completely known, it is thought to occur as a result of multifactorial reasons during the child's prenatal term. Treatment approach varies according to the signs and symptoms. Therefore, it is necessary to make an objective choice when it comes to the most suitable treatment.
