Molecular characterization of cassava mosaic Virus in Rwanda

The assessment of cassava mosaic disease (CMD) by scoring severity, taking data on incidence, counting whitefly number and leaf samples collection were done through survey. The diagnostic of different cassava mosaic virus species belonging to the genus Begomovirus on cultivated cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) and wild related cassava tree (Manihot glaziovii Müll. Arg) through PCR analysis, cloning to allow nucleotide sequence comparison of ACMV and EACMV from Rwanda using partial sequences to obtain phylogenetic tree are well explained in this book. CMD incidence,severity and available cassava mosaic virus were mapped.
