Molecular Evaluation GDF9 gene for growth traits in Indian goats

Goat in India, reared by poor marginal and landless farmers. Being a prolific animal, goat rearing is very suitable in Indian conditions with zero input. The candidate gene approach, employed in identifying the polymorphisms in genes likely to cause phenotypic variation based on physiological and biochemical evidence, could accelerate the improvement of goat growth traits. therefore the present book covers the polymorphic study in growth and differentiation factor 9 gene and association of GDF9 gene polymorphic variants with growth parameters in Indian goat breeds.
