The study deals with Industrial Symbiosis (IS), a term used to describe a network of diverse organizations that make use of different by-products to improve their facility to achieve common goals, improve environmental conditions or improve business and technical processes.

Erika Daji Uri holds a Ph.D. in Sociology from the School of Advanced Social Studies, Nova Gorica, Slovenia. Her research interests include Socio-economical factors of industrial symbiosis, computer intensive methods and applications, software modelling of industrial symbiosis networks, and the combination of qualitative and quantitative methods of industrial symbiosis networks analyses.
