Mosul University Museum and Animals and Plants at its Vicinity

Mosul university administration in 2009 constructed a new marvelous building devoted to a natural history museum consists of two story building, ground and upper .This building devoted to natural history and to embrace other branches of science such as geology, mechanical engineering, computer science, medical issues so to be general scientific museum .In the ground floor 40 marble boxes were built to exhibit birds, mammals, and reptiles with an environment similar to its natural habitat. In the upper story or 1st floor 52 marble boxes were built for exhibition of geological exhibition , fossils, type of rocks and human mechanical manufactures. Furthermore, a separate hall devoted to Herbarium posses valid collection of plants arranged in 20 steel cabinets. At the ground floor two outstanding issues were exhibited , a gypsum specimen of dinosaur, Stegasaurus, coated with silicon and has a sensor to produce voice when one pass nearby. Noteworthy, Stegasaurus is a dinosaur lived 155 millions of year ago. The 2nd is a large rounded fish tank was imported for the exhibition of fishes in live state.
