Mucoadhesive bioplate for soft palatomucosal delivery

Soft palatal drug delivery is a promising area for continued research with the aim of systemic delivery of orally inefficient peptide and protein drug molecules. However, the need for safe and effective permeation/absorption enhancers is a crucial component for a prospective future in this area.The isolated biomaterials possesses novel inbuilt mucoadhesive and mucoretentive properties serve as a novel controlled release processing agent for transmucosal and novel drug delivery systems. This approach is novel and unique for the biomaterials isolated from edible natural sources which are biodegradable, biocompatible and biosafe. These ideal biomaterials may open up a new path to apply in many pharmaceutical formulations and also extend the frontier of the research.
