Multi-ethnic Education in Zimbabwe: A Critical Reflection

Multi-ethnic education has been contentious over years. It arises where different ethnic groups co-exist. This book deals with prominent pedagogical questions that are associated with multi-ethnic education. These include: What media of instruction should be used not only for teaching and learning but also for displays in and out of the classroom? Do instructional materials used in schools cater for diversity? To what extent are cultural activities learners participate in diverse sensitive? How competent are teachers in handling diverse learners? By reading through this book, learners learn to befriend other people, teachers become diverse sensitive and therefore more competent, lecturers in universities and colleges are attuned to be diverse oriented in approach. Notably,the emerging issue in multi-ethnic education is deliberated upon. That is unity in diversity.
Autorentext
Daniel Madzanire is a lecturer at Great Zimbabwe University. He holds a Masters degree in Sociology of Education and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Sociology of Education with the University of South Africa (UNISA). His research interests are in culture,music, gender, poverty.
