The manuscript deals with one of the most interesting subject of tectonism of the Himalayan orogen in Baralacha Pass (77° 27 E: 32° 49 N, altitude 4,573m). This research describes and analyses various chapters include tectonics, soft sediment deformational structures, carbon isotope, geochemical analysis, clay mineralogy and mineral magnetic data to understand clearly the past climatic changes in Lahaul and Spiti. According to the radiocarbon chronology the sedimentation in this area started from ~25,300 yr BP and followed till ~3200 yr BP. The seismites point out that the palaeo earthquake occurrence at different stages and suggests the activeness of the Baralacha Fault and associated faults during these periods.
