Museumification of literary and memorial estate complexes

Nina Nikitina's monograph examines the phenomenon of literary and memorial estate complexes from the perspective of the "new museology", which allowed her to reflex such conceptual concepts as the development and preservation of memorial topoi. Making sense of this unique phenomenon, the author proposes to classify literary and memorial estate complexes into three types: nostalgic, metaphorical and hypothetical. The scientific discourse of museology introduces such a new concept as "Space of Genius", which allows literary and memorial estate complexes to "fit" into the hypertext of the cultural landscape. In his research the author has studied the experience of the estate museums of Yasnaya Polyana, Mikhailovsky, Spassky-Lutovinov, Melikhov, Tarkhan, Goethe and Schiller museums in Germany, the Lakes Region Museum in Great Britain, the Canal Museum in the USA.
