Rihanna worked with several producers for the album, mainly Carl Sturken and Evan Rogers who produced and penned most of the tracks on the album. Musically, the album incorporates the genres of caribbean music because of her background. The album was released to mixed reviews with some critics calling her as yet another R&B act and others calling the album a great Caribbean influenced album. Music of the Sun peaked at number ten on the U.S. Billboard 200 albums chart later being certified gold in sales by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), following sales in excess of 500,000 copies. Internationally, the album debuted at number seven in Canada on the Canadian Albums Chart. The album also managed peak in Countries like the United Kingdom, Italy, Japan, Germany and New Zealand.
