The present book "Muslim as Unequal: A Socio-Economic Study of Jharkhand" discusses largely the socio-economic exclusion of Muslims in the background of a few special initiatives taken by the government of India in the last fifteen years. It discusses the contemporary socio-political exclusion of minorities in India and especially how the life of Muslim has got shaped over the period of time after independence. The beauty of the discussion brought with the narratives and case studies takes the reader to the journey of stories how a common Muslim find so deprived and excluded in all aspects of their life world. The book attempts to examine socio-economic conditions of Muslim as a minority in one of the richest states of Jharkhand with the poorest population like Muslims and tribes. There is some good effort in the book to bring the inclusionary perspectives of minority Muslims, whether they have benefitted in the process and context of development.
