Mutualism of Tourism and Nature Conservation

Due to the very diverse, hardly structured nature of the tourism sector and its characteristic weak defined types and diverse transitions between them, an attempt is made to display and categorise the variety of different outward-oriented ecotourism measures related to the support of nature conservation and the maintaining or enhancement of the environment. Furthermore, their implementation in practice and the advantages and benefits that ecotourism companies see in promoting nature conservation are investigated, based on a case study of three Australian lodging facilities.

Iris Denk was born 1987, currently living in Vienna. She finished her international MSc double degree programme in Environmental Science at the University of Copenhagen in 2014, specialising in Environmental Management and Ecosystems and Biodiversity. Since 2009, she works as Environmental educationalist, since 2011, for a private lodging company.
