My Little Kingdom

I fled out of my country at the age of twenty-one, after having been raped repeatedly as a child, kidnapped twice, stoned, and forced into a 7-year battle to cure my homosexuality; soon before I fled I was suicidal. A European came into my life and rescued me, proof of the healing power of love. Subsequently, my family rejected me because of my homosexuality. I wrote a book that tells exactly what happened--not to attract your sympathy. Oh, no! The book's only noble purpose is to wake others up and give a new perspective on life. Misery might have killed the child in me, but it has strengthened the man within. We all have our own backpacks to carry. Why not put the past behind us, when we can live the now? You live the now, don't you?

If with this book I can help others, I feel that the cost of sharing much of my private experience is worth it.

Majid Wachtarczyk was born on the 29th of May 1993 and raised in Ibra, Oman. At the age of 19, he moved to Muscat to complete his Diploma in Petroleum Engineering. Short after, and after the third suicide-trial, love from the first sight had rescued him. Thus he could flee from Oman to begin a new life with the love of his life, his husband, Helmut Wachtarczyk. Life as a homosexual in Oman had its consequences. Subsequently, he was a victim of repeated rape, stoning, and endless punishments. Writing was his relief from the continuous pain. As his parents came to know that he is a homosexual, after being raped 14 times and kidnapped twice, he was imprisoned in his room for three months. His only salvation was to write, endlessly. He created a fantasy world, in which he sought refuge. From that age one, he admired literature. With his first book, My Little Kingdom, he opens himself to his audience by publishing his own private life. He steps down from his ego-throne since he no longer longs for sympathy because of the challenges he faced. He now has a higher goal, It is not about me, it is about the individuals out there, who might be afraid to speak out and fight for their rights.
