Bad luck can take many forms, but in Madeline's case it always seems to go for the jugular. One or two close calls might be shrugged off but they happen so often that she has grown used to the spiking adrenaline rush of a near death experience. Being repeatedly on the brink of losing her life, Madeline starts to wonder. Who is the mysterious boy that always saves her at the last second? And does he have anything to do with the reason Death seeks her out? Staying alive is no longer her only priority and while Madeline unveils the mystery surrounding her bad luck, she steadily grows closer with her secretive saviour - but not everything is as it appears.

Stella was always an avid reader, so much so that her mother was forced to hide books from her during childhood lest she wanted to deal with a sleep-deprived nine-year-old. This love for books soon translated into writing, when there were stories Stella wanted to read but couldn't find. In the end she decided to write them herself. During her teenage years she started publishing some of these stories online, building a community of thousands of readers and steadily growing through the experience. Writing for StoryOne was a personal challenge, taking advantage of the given restrictions and trying something new all at once. Stella has a penchant for mysteries and fantasy stories, linked back into interesting mythologies and fables. Her books usually make use of these elements, combined with a splash of romance which should never be missing.
