Nano MgO Preparation, Identification and Some Applications

This research includes three main parts, namely: Preparation and Identification of Magnesium Oxide NMO, study it by different techniques and then using it in different kinds of applications. The first part of the work concerned with variety of methods used for preparation of NMO, i.e., chemical and physical methods. The chemical methods include the sol-gel method using magnesium chloride as a precursor which converted to magnesium hydroxide, then calcination in the muffle furnace at different temperatures to get NMO. It has been using the fusion method for preparation of NMO by grinding Mg metal with salt like magnesium carbonate and sodium chloride ...etc., then fused the mixture in the muffle furnace at about 800 ºC for ~ 4 h , cooling down the product , washing several times with deionized water and drying in oven for 2 h.
