The German Nationale Plattform Elektromobilität (NPE) - rendered in English as National Electric Mobility Platform (BMU) or National Platform for Electric Mobility (VDA, VW) or National Platform for Electromobility (BMW, Audi) - is a joint council of the German government covering electric vehicle introduction. It was officially established on 3. May 2010 during a meeting with German chancellor Angela Merkel including the heads of all car makers, industry providers, technical organizations and research associations in Germany. Its task is to drive the "Nationaler Entwicklungsplan Elektromobilität" / National Development Plan for Electric Mobility.
