Nationalism and Nationalist ideology in Yugoslavia

This book is the authors first academic work and an insight into the SFRYs collapse, the massive and violent reinvigoration of nationalism in (former) Yugoslavia as well as the possible connection of self-management socialism - i.e. the Yugoslav model of socialism- with the dissolution. Was indeed self-management socialism a conditio-sine-qua-non for the collapse of the SFRY followed by a fatal aftermath that can be feeled even today in the Balkan region? Why did Yugoslavia experience a deadly civil war whereas other socialist and multi-ethnic states in Eastern Europe did not -or at least not on a same level- when they were dissolving during the post-socialist era? These questions and relevant topics are adressed by the author in this book.

Konstantinos Angelos Tasopoulos nasceu em Atenas, Grécia, e tem uma licenciatura e um mestrado em Ciência Política pela Universidade Aristóteles de Salónica e pela Universidade de Viena, respectivamente. Actualmente, é candidato a doutoramento no Departamento de Administração Pública da Universidade Panteion de Ciências Políticas e Sociais.
