Natural fiber nonwoven composites

Natural fibers traditionally have been used in form of short dispersed fibers in composite industry for non structural applications. In order to expand their market to semi or structural applications, there is huge gap in research studies. Fahimian in this book, with an extensive experimental research has identified the most important characteristics of natural fiber nonwovens that need to be measured in order to develop their application for structural purposes.

Dr. Mahi Fahimian has done her Ph.D at University of Manitoba, department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering. Her research is focused on developing natural fiber nonwovens for manufacturing bio-composites using different types of resin transfer molding.
