Natural Resource Management And Livelihood Security

With the growth of development processes, the environmental condition deteriorates aggressively and thereby the livelihood pattern of rural tribal people is continuously under changing. This poses a great threat to sustainable development of natural resources. The modern development brings many improvements in the quality of life and at the same time it invites some negative impacts to the environment. Globalisation is not itself responsible for these failures of open market economics. Indeed, if we could identify an alternative and sustainable economic model, then its globalisation would become desirable. Meanwhile, poorer section of the population will tend to be the losers when confronted with scarcity of food, water and natural resources. Good governance of globalisation is once again the only avenue for equitable management of its risks.
