Nearest Neighbour Analysis to Improve Efficiency of Field Experiments
Details
The book describes how the use of appropriate NN method helps in increasing precision of the experiment showing large heterogeneity in error estimates. Large variation occurs in plant protection-entomological experiments where insect population/counts vary greatly; weed control experiments where weed counts/weights vary greatly and experiments on crops having multi-harvest nature where pickings/stages. Similarly, experiments in hill/valley areas where soil erosion as well as soil moisture cause heterogeneity, show large variation in the data. These areas of experimentation through NN analysis have not been much used practically.
