Networking & Data Communication in an Institution of Higher Learning

Over the past years, institutions of higher learning in Africa have lagged behind due to technological challenges such as inadequate knowledge on how to build strong infrastructural ICT networks for information sharing. Lack of ICT networks inhibits administrative personnel and academic staff from sharing information. They are forced to carry data in flash-disks, or CD-Roms physically from one computer to the other. A network enables files to be shared instantaneously within an intranet. This book therefore demonstrates practically how an institution of higher learning can be inter-networked to allow information sharing among staff and students. The study used an institution of higher learning as a prototype.
