New Medical Fibers

The main goal of this book is to introduce new medical fibers/ fabrics based on polysaccharides suitable for biomedical applications. This book include five main chapters. Chapter one concern "medical fibers/fabrics preparations, classifications, types of fiber/fabrics used and uses of polysaccharides on preparation of wound dressing material. Chapter two highlights using hyaluronan on preparation of silver nanoparticles with control the size and shape of silver nanoparticles and the application of hyaluronan/silver nanocomposite as new wound dressing. Chapter three concern on synthesize new core/shell nanoparticles fabricated from chitosan/MPEG as sell and silver nanoparticles as core with controlling the size of both core/shell and substitution on chitosan functional groups. Chapter four discus application core/shell nanoparticles composite onto cotton fabric and preparation of novel wound dressing material. Final chapter summarize, conclusion and future outlook.

Dr. Abdelmohsen Abdellatif is Senior Researcher in Central European Institute of Technology (CEITEC), Brno University of technology (VUT), Brno, Czechia. He got his Ph.D from Pardubice University Czechia. My currently interests are preparation of new nanocomposite materials and development of novel 3D scaffold for medical purposes.
