New Technology Venture Balanced Scorecard

Can a department manager who launches technologically advanced products use a performance measurement tool to improve product quality? Business environments where technologically advanced products are launched to the market for the first time, known as new technology ventures (NTV s), have lagged behind in adoption of measures that drive product quality. NTV s have been slow to adopt such measures due to a lack of research that would substantiate the impact of any proposed performance management systems. This book documents important research that: 1. Substantiated that a performance management system such as a balanced scorecard could have a positive impact on product quality in NTV s 2. Employed two studies to collect and analyze data 3. Used results to devise an innovative NTV Balanced Scorecard 4. Determined this scorecard with its highly usable displays was an effective tool to measure and drive product quality performance in NTV environments 5. Devised scorecard template for indigenous modification that may be quickly incorporated into a variety of NTV environments so managers can guide their teams toward higher quality products and improve NTV launches.
