News in Black and White
Details
News in Black and White looks at what it means to be black in Ireland today. While it is not aimed at reinventing the debate on the issue of blackness, it also looked at past discussions on the issue in America and elsewhere and offers some ideas about being black by inclination. In addition, the book discusses the press and racial differentiation. It also examines problems of the press and how they impact in journalism, journalists and value judgments based on racial differentiation and the manifestations of misrepresentation of blacks in the Irish media. This is a must read for anyone who is seeking a deeper understanding of how Black people feel about media representation in Ireland.
