Night Club Sector and its Negative Impact on Tourism Sector

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of the nightclub sector on the tourism sector of Northern Cyprus. Nightclubs that provide casino and sex tourism services seriously damage the country's image and is the source of many socio-cultural, economic (long-term) and health problems. Alayköy (Nicosia) and Kayalar (Kyrenia) are the villages where sex tourism is most active and nightclubs are the most, were chosen to collect data in the research. The data obtained from the interviews with the local people in these villages constitute the methodology and semi-structured question technique was applied. Findings section was created in line with the answers given. The common view is that sex tourism seriously damages the tourism image and tourism sector in North Cyprus has turned to 4S. In Northern Cyprus, this sector should be legalized, its contribution to the economy should be increased and alternative tourism investments should be increased.
