Nitrogen Fertilization of Corn Crops

One limitation in the case of corn is that chlorophyll meter readings taken in the early stages (V4 to V6) may not be consistent for N nutritional diagnosis. This restricts the possibility of intervention in N topdressing management early in the cycle, which is the ideal period for maximum crop response. The objective of this study was to evaluate the relationship between chlorophyll meter readings and the levels of extractable chlorophyll, nitrogen, and biomass in corn crops.

He holds a degree in Agronomy from the University of Western Santa Catarina and a Master's and Doctorate in Agronomy (Plant Production) from the University of Passo Fundo. He is currently a professor and assistant coordinator of the Master's program in Technology and Innovation Management at the Community University of Chapecó and a professor at the University of Western Santa Catarina.
