Non-carious Cervical Lesions

Tooth wear is a physiologic process. It can be termed pathologic when it affects the function of teeth or the aesthetic appearance. However, there are no universally accepted guidelines delineating the two entities. Early diagnosis is necessary to bring about timely intervention in the form of preventive and restorative methods. The decision to treat should be guided by the patient's needs, the severity of wear and the potential for progression.
