NON CAVITATED CARIOUS LESIONS: ELUCIDATING THE ENCRYPTED

Dental caries remains the most prevalent chronic disease in both children and adults, even though it is largely preventable. The prevalence of caries among preschool children is approximately 40-70% . This rate increases steadily with age. It not only causes damage to the tooth, but is also responsible for several morbid conditions of the oral cavity like increase in tooth loss before time, malocclusion etc . It interferes with self-esteem, daily routine activities, normal nutrition intake and affects the overall quality of life. Early detection and diagnosis play a major role in halting disease progression. The content presented in this book focuses at reviewing the literature available on the disease process of early caries and the improved methods of its detection and management.
