Basically in Quadrilateral element there are four nodes and thus it forms a conforming element while in Quadri-linear two extra nodes are provided along the longitudinal direction which helps to obtain behavior at that points.Thus primary and secondary unknown can be obtain at early stage or it can be said that convergence rate is faster.And because of faster convergence rate less iteration are required in analyzing beam, meshing through Quadri-linear element in compare to Quadrilateral element.
