Nonlinear optics is one of the most sought after topic of both theoretical and experimental research not only due to its mathematical elegance but also due to potential of real life applications. Besides modifying existing optical phenomena, nonlinearity can generate new phenomena, which can be used to improve and fabricate optical devices. The widespread application of nonlinearity includes optical communication, data processing, all-optical switching, logic gates, several optical nonlinearity based devices and many more. The huge advancement of nonlinear optics leads to the doorway of an all-optical era. This book presents the solitonic beam and pulse propagation and their control in different nonlinear media, with an emphasis on cubic quintic nonlinearity. The advantages and limit of quintic nonlinearity have been addressed thoroughly. The results and predictions presented in this book will be useful for further improvement of all-optical devices. In addition, issues addressed here have potential application in photonic crystal fibers and Bose-Einstein condensation.
