There is a continuous request for reliable, portable and rapid analytical devices which are inexpensive and capable of sensitive/selective detection in the area of diagnostic applications. In biosensing domain, to date, many different complex techniques from the most advanced categories have been developed and introduced to the scientific world. When the actual clinical practice is concerned, however, only minor percentages of such complex systems are applicable in routine analytical procedures. Such clear fact should lead and inspire researchers as well as industry to dedicate their attempts for production of new generations of diagnostic platforms that can open their ways from the research laboratories to the actual clinical benches and serve the society with the improved point of care. The current book is dedicated to the fabrication and development of different polymeric platforms from a specific polymer system that can be used as adaptive technique for fabrication of exquisite analytical devices or for simple integration into the existing bioanalytical tools in order to enhance the detection signal.

Samira Hosseini obtained her BSc degree in Applied Physics and her MSc degree in Polymer Chemistry. Currently, she is finalizing her PhD project in Biomedical Engineering.The major focus of her PhD research is on development of novel polymeric platforms with controlled surface properties aimed for biosensing application.
