Gears are found in everything from cars to clocks. They are used in tons of mechanical devices. Therefore, the production methods and the problems related to gear failure is an important topic. The production method varies from type of gear to the purpose they are intended to be used in. Understanding the purpose and type of gears suitable for the work is an important aspect for many companies as failure in proper selection and maintenance results in shutting down equipment which has a high cost as time is of paramount importance in large factories.
