Obtaining the Nb-Cu Composite

The Nb-Cu composite can be used in the manufacture of electrical contacts, resistors, welding electrodes and more. These materials must have high electrical and thermal conductivities and heat resistance. The production of these composites using conventional technology is limited, since they involve chemical elements that have very different melting points. An alternative is to use powder metallurgy. The aim of this work is to obtain an Nb-Cu composite via powder metallurgy.
