Healthcare is an enviable profession in the Nigeria setting, but as applicable to other areas of human endeavour, the practitioners are exposed to many occupational hazards, some of which produce physical disabilities and others life threatening diseases. Providing high - quality healthcare should not be hazardous to the healthcare workers, who provide care for people living with HIV/AIDS. It is on these bases, which this research work stands to examine occupational hazards among healthcare workers who provide care for people living with HIV/AIDS. The work examines the different types of hazards encounter by healthcare workers.The Multisystem and Pathways Models was used to explain the rate of occurrence, impact and its prevention in order to achieve the objective of the study.This work will stands to encourage the healthcare policy makers to make policies that will take care of healthcare workers and their well being and expose the healthcare workers to different hazards and to be more careful when providing care for patients.
