Occupational stress does also have relationship with human resource development which some people may not aware. For instance, Francis and Keegan (2006) have called for HR professionals to provide a distinctive contribution guarding the well-being of employees by reducing levels of employee stress and promoting health and well-being. The role of Human Resource Development is to audit the occupational stress whether it exist and how to overcome it through the developing the training needs which expected to be used to further improve the performance of employees, organisation and country as a whole. Although, large amount of literature that indicates that occupational stress affects health but the number of studies addressing the relationship between occupational stress factors, training needs and performance enhancement with the intervention of HRD that related to SMEs employees is much smaller. The study on occupational stress factors is hoped would shed light on how the SMEs employees could be affected significantly by the training needs, which at the end enhances their performance.
